CHAPITRE IV - Bites.
We can bite all the parts of the body which we kiss, excepted ( except ? ) the lower lip, the inside of the mouth and the eyes.
The qualities of teeth are: the brightness, the equality between them, the suitable proportions, the acuteness in the extremities.
Their defects are to be rough, soft, big and shaky.
We distinguish several sorts of bites: those not visible, leaving on the skin that a momentary blush;
The swollen bite: the skin was seized and pulled as with a pliers;
The point: a very small portion of skin was seized by two teeth only;
Coral and jewel: the skin is pressed ( is in a hurry ? ) at the same moment by teeth (jewels) and lips ( the coral);
The line of jewels: the bite is made with all the teeth;
The broken cloud: broken line formed by points taking out and bringing in with regard to a bow of curve, because of the interval between teeth;
The bite of the boar: on bosoms and shoulders, two lines of marked teeth the some over the others, with a red interval.
The first three bites are made on the lower lip; the line of points and that of jewels, on the throat ( breast ? ), the dimple of the neck and in aînes.
The alone line of points is printed on the forehead ( front ? ) and the thighs.
The swollen bite, and that said coral and jewel, are always made on the left ( awkward ? ) cheek the tracks of nails and teeth of which are considered as the ornaments.
We show to a woman that we wish it by making, with nails and teeth, marks ( brands ? ) on the following objects which she ( it ? ) carries ( wears ? ) or which ( who ? ) belong to him ( her ? ): an ornament of the forehead ( front ? ) or the ears, a bouquet, a sheet ( leaf ? ) of béthel or the tamala.
Here are for this subject some verses:
« When a lover bites very hardly his mistress ( teacher ? ), this one has to, of a feint anger, bite him ( it ? ) twice as hardly. »
So, for a point, she ( it ? ) will return a line of points; for a line of points, a broken cloud.
If she ( it ? ) is very excited, and if, in the ecstasy of her ( its ? ) fascinated transport, she ( it ? ) engages ( opens ? ) a sort of fight, then she takes her lover by hair, attracts ( entices ? ) to her the head, kisses him ( her ? ) the lower lip; then, in her ( its ? ) frenzy, she ( it ? ) bites him ( it ? ) by all the body, by closing eyes.
And even the day and in public, when his ( her ? ) lover shows him ( her ? ) some mark ( brand ? ) which it made him ( her ? ), she has to smile to this sight, turn the head from his part as if she wanted to scold him ( it ? ), shows him ( her ? ) in his turn, of an irritated air ( sight ? ), the marks ( brands ? ) which himself made.
When two lovers so use ( wear out ? ) it, their passion lasts centuries without decreasing.
